Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school every day with a smile on their

faces wanting to learn and ready for a new adventure.

My fourth graders are eager to share stories about their families, their lives, and their dreams. I hope for my students to be ready with the knowledge and with curiosity and interest in what the future holds for them. I want them to believe that they can change their future.

My students are from different parts of the area, but they are primarily from under-served communities that are traditionally limited in their access to great educational experiences. They are primarily Latino and speak a variety of home languages such as Mam, Quiche, Spanish, and English. Many of them are economically disenfranchised. Ninety percent of the students at my school receive free lunch.

Their reality has not stopped them from striving to better themselves. They aspire to go to college, learn, and contribute back to their community. They dream of being lawyers, doctors, teachers, scientists, and soccer players. They want to be that positive change that their community needs.

My Project

Having graphing notebooks for math and science for my students will help them with their work, especially when they have to align their digits to add, subtract, multiply and divide. In science, the graphing notebooks will be wonderful when they need to graph their data. We wont need to use a separate sheet of graph paper to do the graph on and then glue it or tape in onto our science notebooks.

The graphing notebooks make for a cleaner and better organized science and math notebook.

My students will save time, and paper since all the work will be done in one notebook.
