My students need the TI Emulator software. This tool projects and enlarges the calculator so that they can see the keystrokes as directed, thus ensuring their success.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Today's students are not the same as students of previous generations. They are active learners. They learn best by observation, rather than being told the rules of a topic such as graphing. I find that discovery is the best way that students learn rather than passing on a set of rules.
Our students are teenage mothers trying to provide for their family by pursuing their dream of a high school diploma.
My passion is to provide an interactive classroom with today's technology regardless of the economic status of our students. Unfortunately due to several factors in an urban district decisions have to be made where dollars are spent and we are frequently overlooked.
These are girls that are really interested in advanced mathematics, but may have gaps in learning in Algebra 1. This tool allows students to focus on the effect rather than the process of physically graphing multiple functions. I bridge these gaps by reverting to the old school method of substituting values and solving, thus enabling the students to see where the table of values come from on the graphing calculator.
My Project
Many of our students have been unsuccessful in previous mathematics classes...Can you identify with this? If you can you can connect with their challenges and empathize with them. If not...You may one the students who were gifted with the "Mathematics Gene" and you probably had friends that struggled with higher level mathematics.
Either way, I need your help. My philosophy of teaching is to build a community of learners. I use a combination of the Socratic Method where we discuss mathematics rather than the teacher passing along the knowledge. and the Discovery Method Where students discover the rules of mathematics rather than being coached by the teacher. "I prefer to be the Guide on the Side, Rather than the Sage on the Stage."
I practice the "I Do, We Do, You Do" strategy in my classroom. This software will allow students to see the classroom demonstration, practice on their own, check their answers, and assess their abilities.
As previously stated, today's students learn best by discovery and creating their own rules rather than accepting them from a book or a teacher.
Students will use this software interactively along with their classroom provided calculators to create a community of learners and share their observations. This tool will help students to see the key strokes as they are entered on the calculator and recreate the results displayed by the teacher or a fellow student.
