My students need 6 graphing calculators to do various algebra, statistics, and trigonometry calculations.

My Students

At this school, many students have dreams of going to college and are taking the steps needed by enrolling in advanced classes. However, some do not have the financial means to afford a graphing calculator. Financial situation should not effect your learning and I want to make sure of it.

I teach at the largest and most diverse school in Alaska.

Our public school enrollment over 2,200 students in 9-12th grade, we meet every spectrum of diversity. There is no majority race. We have students struggling to get their high school diploma and others taking college A.P. classes.

My Project

It is very evident of the influence of technology in education and the work force. With 6 more graphing calculators available for the students to use, they will be able to have a better understanding of how to use them so when they go on to college they are not behind the other students that already own their own. We do many different statistical analyses and graphing throughout the school year.

It is important to help those students that do not have the financial means to have their own calculators.

They will be able to learn how to use the calculators so they are not behind when they enroll in college.
