Help me give my students the best possible experience learning virtually with an updated, quality graphics card for the teacher’s remote-learning computer.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class is extremely unique. Never have I known a more talented, outgoing, and motivated group of children. Statistics say that children from low-income backgrounds have reduced attentiveness, curiosity, and motivation; however, my class is beating the odds.
My class is full of piano players, singers, dancers, actors, artists, writers, athletes, and brilliant thinkers.
Every day is a new adventure! They amaze me daily with their inquisitive nature. Throughout every STEM activity we explore, piece of literature we read, and new lesson we learn, it is so evident that I am in the presence of our future leaders. This class is going to go to great places and do amazing things, and they're beginning now!
My Project
2020 has changed education and the teaching profession forever. This time last year, the thought of teaching remotely and/or virtually was laughable. It’s now, however, our biggest thoughts of reality.
All teachers who are teaching their students online, need a fast, compatible, and highly-functioning computer.
Right now, my computer is not. My computer needs a new, better quality graphics card to handle simultaneously virtually meeting with 30 plus students, streaming video, and running several other demanding applications all at once.
Simply put, a graphics card is a piece of computer hardware that produces the image you see on a monitor. The graphics card is responsible for rendering an image to your monitor — it does this by converting data into a signal your monitor can understand. The better your graphics card the better, and smoother, the image can be produced.
This graphics card will give my computer the ability to virtually meet with many students at once and live project to them all the components of high-quality lessons without constantly lagging and skipping. Without this graphics card I will not be able to teach to the highest quality. This will directly impact each and every student and ensure they learn the most and to the best extent possible.
