My 20 students come from various backgrounds and experiences outside of school. Of these 20 students, one is in my classroom for inclusion, one is in the Gifted and Talented program, and for many of my students, English is their second language. My students love learning and are really excited about the real world and all the new opportunities available to them.
In our class, we focus on building a community of inclusion and acceptance.
As a Title I school, many of my students come from broken homes and have gone through a lot. We focus on social-emotional learning as well as academic learning to ensure all students get what they need.
My Project
My students are loving reading this year but I need some graphic novels for them to dive into. My students have been begging for some Dog Man books all year. Help me get my students the books they have been asking for.
My students love to read and create their own graphic novels and giving them more to read will help to inspire their creativity and encourage them to read more.
These requested books including The Baby-Sitters Club Graphic Novels, The Fishy Treasure Caper, the Big Nate Series Collection and the Dog Man, and the Supa Epic Collection will be a great addition to our classroom library. The few graphic novels we do have are constantly being read and are starting to fall apart.
