I work at a Title I School with a poverty rating over 75%. As part of my approach to teaching difficult and challenging Science standards, I try to include as many read aloud texts, hands-on activities, and appropriately leveled books for each unit as possible.
My students are amazing children who would love the opportunity to use your donations to work together in order to master these new, complex skills and show everyone what they can accomplish with a little hard work.
Research has shown that repeated exposure to the same material in different formats can help students retrain hard to remember information. This is especially important for students who can find the information in textbooks overwhelming or even boring. These books will be used as class read alouds, research resources for independent and group projects, and incorporated in out classroom library.
By donating to this project, you'll be helping students become engaged scientists and increase academic achievement through reading.
These books will be the stepping stone that starts off our learning for each unit through the year. Plus, students can use these books to review, and retain, information throughout the year as well. Every book will be used and loved by each child in our classroom.
