My students need books that they are actually interested in. Many claim graphic novels as their favorite genre. These graphic novels have the plot and storylines to capture their attention and encourage their reading.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are incredibly driven passionate individuals who will truly make the world a better place someday.
Our students are some of the hardest working individuals I have ever come across.
They work hard each and every day, through long classes and extended school days. After years of teaching I can safely say that these students are truly remarkable.
Whether it is participating in after school sports, classroom discussions, or completing classwork, our students put their all into everything that they do.
My Project
Student reading is a hard thing to promote. Without interesting texts, student's innate desire to read withers and dies. While we can try to make our kids read in class, they will not develop a true love of literacy without books that they truly enjoy. We need graphic novel sets.

That being said, this can be a difficult genre to navigate. Many have limited access to high quality graphic novel, limiting their exposure to what they may actually like or be interested in. Please help me foster my student's love of reading!
