I work at a public school in California that consists of a diverse population of students. Many of our families come from low socio-economic backgrounds and 90% of students qualify for free/reduced-price lunch. We have many families from the neighborhood that attend our school.
I teach an amazing group of 4th graders.
Some of my students are English Language learners. My students love to learn and have fun. I want to make sure to prepare my students with the tools and skills they need to be successful for the rest of their lives.
My Project
Our class would love to have graphic novels in our classroom library! Often graphic novels are too expensive to purchase. With your help, we could have more graphic novels available to read in our classroom. Graphic novels are a popular choice for my students during independent reading time. Unfortunately, we don't have many of them in our library so students often have to wait until others are done with them.
Please help us get more graphic novels for our classroom so students can have more opportunities to read them.
Graphic novels are a great way to get students motivated to read. My students love reading graphic novels because they are fun to read and have pictures that go with the stories. Having more graphic novels available for my students will continue to help build the reading culture in my classroom.
