Our middle school students are avid readers - during just the first two months of school they checked out over 6,500 books! Graphic Novels continue to be our most popular area of the library. They are engaging, exciting, and students love to read them.
Our Graphic Novel section is in dire need of updating - we have books in circulation that have been checked out over 100 times - and they are falling apart.
The titles included in this project would replace many beloved favorites and add more titles that highlight diversity. These books are sure to be checked out and read immediately.
My Project
Graphic Novels are engaging, exciting, and can serve as a gateway to even more reading. Once students find an author or series they like, they want to read them all! It's so important to have the books they want available and ready to check out.
Any time I ask students what types of books they'd like more of in the library, they always answer - Graphic Novels!
Adding these titles to our collection would not only replace some favorites that have circulated for years, it would also increase the number of books highlighting characters from around the world and with unique experiences to share. Please help our students get access to the books they want to read.
