My students are highly motivated learners coming from a variety of backgrounds in suburban Delaware. They have many interests ranging from sports, chorus, band, drama, volunteering, and being involved in the community.
The students will focus on learning communication skills that will make them global citizens in an ever-changing world.
They are studying Spanish levels 1 and 2 which will give them an introduction to the language as they acquire skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Many students will continue their study of world language in levels 3, 4, and Advanced Placement!
My Project
My students are looking for highly engaging, easy to comprehend graphic novels in Spanish! One of my students' favorite resources is Señor Wooly. Señor Wooly is the author of fun songs and books that grab the audience's attention and helps them learn Spanish through repetition of key phrases.
Students will use graphic novels in Spanish to apply reading comprehension with highly engaging stories and pictures.
We are requesting class copies of two of Señor Wooly's graphic novels, Billy y las Botas and La Casa de la Dentista.
By using these resources in Spanish class, students will demonstrate their knowledge of Spanish while enjoying the illustrations and interesting stories. Expansion activities can be used as students draw, summarize, and retell scenes from the novels - All in Spanish!
