My students are very visual and finding books that can will make them want to read can be challenging. My students have found a love for graphic novels and as a teacher it makes my heart happy to see them not want to put them down.
The majority of my students are on free or reduced-price lunch, based on economic need.
I especially love that my students strive to meet the high expectations I set for them, even though they all have academic struggles.
My students struggle to read and finding books that are in their reading range and interest them has proven difficult. My students have found a few graphic novels in our school library and are disappointed when there are none available for them to check out. I am asking for 84 graphic novels. These are all boxed sets so that if a student ends up loving them they have more of the same to read.
I would love to get these books in my classroom so that I can continue to foster a love of reading for my students.
The more my students read, the more they learn. I want to get my students excited to read with these wonderful additions to my classroom library.
Please consider helping to foster my student's love of reading graphic novels.
