I facilitate a Special Education, Autistic Support Classroom. Our high school is considered to be in a high needs community. Resources are low and it is difficult to find funds for anything considered extra-curricular. However, I would consider this request to be more of a life-skill application considering society's demand for technology in the digital age.

Autistic students present many learning and cognitive variations which often give them a disadvantage in society. Specifically, job placement is difficult depending on the severity of the cognitive spectrum. However, Autistic students can also display incredible advanced abilities. My students have shown time and time again, their skills in operating and troubleshooting computer technology.

My students need a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Premium. I have high expectations for all of my students and it is my goal to utilize their strengths to circumvent their learning variations. Several of my students show extremely strong abilities in working with computers. Having this software in the classroom will give them the opportunity to acquire advanced real world job skills. This software will give my student's advanced skills and abilities for future employment, despite their learning variations or disabilities. It is not unrealistic that students with specific variations have advanced capabilities.

Your help will ensure that my students are given a fare chance at being self-sufficient and productive in today's society. These beautiful students, like ALL students, possess many gifts. Please help us by providing us with the tools needed to develop these strengths. I know they will thank you for giving them the chance to feel empowered and productive.
