My Students

My students come from a very small town. Technology is not always their strong suit. We have one-to-one iPads and heavily rely on them. At our school, we are slowly trying to immerse them in technology.

My students are in grades from freshman to seniors that come from all different backgrounds.

Some students really struggle with math and some excel, such as my AP Calculus students.

At our small school, students are able to participate in many things. Because of this, students are constantly missing class and It would be nice to be able to give each student their own materials to check out to take home.

My Project

This project is for the purchase of some new calculators for the mathematics department. Currently, we have some very old ones that are losing buttons and/or buttons are starting to not work. This grant will help me replace those. This will teach students of all ages at the high school from Algebra I to the Integrated Classes to AP Calculus.

Students love using calculators and applying math to real life.

These calculators will be used as a part of my classroom set. They can be checked out by students but must be returned. This can be especially useful when I have projects that require the use of a calculator. This will also allow each student to have their own during a test so we don't have to share them.
