My Students

My students will be participating in hands on Botany, Biology and Zoology Classes. They will be learning about how to set up a business, a little bit culinary experience and a lot of Science.

The Botany Students at Grand Junction High School along with our Aquaponics Club are looking to build a no till community garden to provide fresh produce to our school district and help students and families in our "backpack program".

Our students will also sell produce to the community for a discount rate to learn business operations and earn money for an aquaponics system to produce food year round.

Students will also learn about pollinators.

My Project

Students will learn how to prepare soil for gardening and growing plants. How to measure and calculate area for how much space is needed to grow produce. Students will learn how to create a business plan.

Students will learn the importance of giving back to their community and their school.

It is important for the next generation to understand how to grow their own food without stripping the land of it's nutrients. Students will learn how to create a miniature sustainable garden.

They will learn about composting both vegetable matter as well as meat composting.
