This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come to school everyday ready to learn, be challenged and have fun! They deserve to come to a classroom that is equipped with all of the basic tools they need to be successful.
My school is a Title I school with students receiving free breakfast and after school daycare.
My class consists of ELD and SEL students who need extra help to access the curriculum. Although my students require extra help, they come to school everyday ready to learn.
My Project
The grammar and punctuation books I am requesting will help me to introduce new concepts in a fun and exciting way. These books will clearly explain why and how we use different punctuation and words to convey our ideas. These books together with explicit teaching and modeling on how to use different punctuation and parts of speech will help my students to be better writers and readers. The knowledge they will gain from these books will guide them to mastering the content standards for first grade. My hope is that these materials will spark an interest and love for learning about our English language.
