My Students

I am the AmeriCorps member serving as a College Adviser for the remainder of the year through the College Advising Corps at Brown University. The College Advising Corps (CAC) at Brown University is a full-time AmeriCorps program that seeks to increase the number of first-generation college-bound, low-to-moderate income and underrepresented high school students who enter and succeed in college or any post-secondary option.

My students are self-driven and very eager to attend and graduate college.

Some students are first-generation college students who never dreamed of attending college due to life and family hardship. They are thrilled to grasp the opportunity of higher education.

My Project

The bedding, backpacks, and planners will help my students to be prepared for the first year of college. The planner will allow them to write down class assignments and be organized. The bed set will guarantee that they rest peacefully and comfortably after a long day of classes and long hours of studying.

Granting these supplies to my students will take some weight and worries off them and their families.

Sending them off to college with a starter kit will show them that they are always supported. These items will put a smile on these students' faces and help them tremendously throughout college.
