My Students

Our school is in a high poverty area of a large urban school district. Our school, in particular, is almost 50% ESOL population. We service students from 36 different countries. The school is a kindergarten through 8th-grade school. The students try very hard to do their best with limited English proficiency. For the most part, they pick up the English language pretty quickly. The teachers in our school do their best to assist all students.

Our team does a great job supporting these students, even though we face a variety of challenges each day.

Even with challenges in our classrooms such as extreme heat or cold, lack of supplies, overcrowded classrooms, etc., we endure and do our best to provide quality experiences and learning to our students. When we have the generosity of others who help us, like you, It makes working in our rooms a little easier.

My Project

We secured a little more than half the amount of money for this trip to see Grace for President live on stage at the Walnut St Theater. We still need $148 to fulfill the full amount needed to pay for all the tickets.

Our students have read the Grace for President book, but will be able to compare the story to the live-action play as an elevated level of learning.

We do not want to pose a burden on the families with the cost so we are hoping to get this funded for our students to pay a minimal cost for a great learning experience.
