A new school year. The summer has ended and the kids are going back to school. Not only are you excited, but thankfully so are they.
Kindergarten students enter the classroom eager to learn and anxious about their new school experience. With each new year comes a need to purchase new supplies and materials that promote student learning.
I am a first time kindergarten teacher for a school in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco.
As the school year kicks off, I wanted to be sure I had the school supplies that my students will need to successfully begin their elementary school education.
I am requesting a host of supplies that will not only teach my students to express themselves through drawing, but will also help them to more quickly learn the alphabet and apply those skills to simple reading exercises. I am also hoping for some musics CD's that will be used to reinforce the basic skills I am teaching in the classroom and help my English language learners become more comfortable in their speaking.
Some of the supplies I am requesting to accomplish these goals are: scissors, pencil boxes, highlighters, art supplies for our "All About Me, Friends, and Families" units, foam magnet letters for alphabet instruction and practice, an icon maker CD to make a visual schedule for the many English language learners in my class, and Greg and Steve and Hap Palmer learning basic skills through music CD's.
Please help my Kindergarten Class start this year and their educational years off right.
