This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
New York City is known as the "melting pot of the world". Why? Because human beings of all different ages, races and cultures call NYC their home. My school is no different. Within all schools, there is one subject that mixes all of the ingredients together, a spoon that stirs the pot, and that subject is Physical Education. As a brand new progressive education middle school, we are home to a founding class of 45 - 6th graders.

Through the use of team building, cooperative games, and team sports I seek to develop physically literate student-athletes. I am a firm believer that we are all lifelong learners and love having the opportunity to share this belief with the students at our school.
My Project
Children don’t understand that one injury can have a long-term impact on their career and life and without the proper equipment, the risk of injury increases. One bad injury has the prop to take a child out of the sport they so love and even ruin their chances of ever going professional. Additionally, it can leave them with a long lasting injury for their entire teen and adult life.
Volleyball players can be hesitant to perform at full capacity without protective knee pads.
In volleyball, diving to your knees to hit a low ball is standard. However, the hard floor of indoor courts can damage your knees if you hit them with your full body weight at full speed without knee pads.
With the Tandem Volleyball Passing Sleeves, players are likely to achieve and experience a higher amount of success. The target on sleeves provide proper ball contact area for perfect passing and protection from repetitive ball contact discomfort and floor burns. It also leaves the players fingers and upper hand free for hitting and setting and are perfect for use in passing or diving/rolling drills.
