My Project

COVID-19 has negatively impacted the literacy growth of many students. Due to remote instruction, students were not given the same opportunities to acquire literacy skills, compared to learning in person. These books will provide students the interaction with literacy they need in order to increase their skills to be fluent readers. Having a wide variety of literature to choose from increases a student’s motivation to read. Research has shown motivation is a key component in a child’s literacy journey. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and this project will help to rectify that.
