My Students

Students at my school come from a working class neighborhood that is very well integrated. They are every color of the rainbow and come from multiple backgrounds. One thing that they have in common is that many of their families are working multiple jobs and having trouble making ends meet.

Teachers, counselors, and other staff members frequently purchase basic need items for students who are not able to receive them from their families.

This school uses a program of catching students doing the right thing. There is an ongoing conversation about "being a bucket filler" by doing good things. They receive incentive "bucks" for good behavior and deeds.

My Project

With getting new Osmo’s technology into the classroom. We need new bases to support all of the different options we have available for student learning. Students can work with numbers, letters, words, fractions, drawing, tangrams and other games.

Students need bases to support our new Osmo’s technology for reading and math.

Students will be able to play learning games with reading, spelling, and sight words. Students can also use them when they are learning new things in math with numbers. For example they can use numbers for multiplication facts, fractions, shapes, edition and subtracting. Students will be able to improve their reading and math skills by working with these new hands on learning games on the IPads.
