My students need a goggle sanitizer to have clean goggles to perform experiments.
As the budget continuously gets cut, so does safety in the lab. Every science teacher wants a safe lab and with limited funds, it is next to impossible. My students currently clean their goggles with sanitation wipes and the fumes burn their eyes!
My students this semester are high school freshmen and sophomores in a competitive academic school.
Our school is relatively small and located in a historic seaport in South Carolina. We are classified as high poverty, but you would never know walking among the students. They have a drive that is matched only by the teachers at this incredible school! As an educator, I must do as much as possible to provide them with resources and an education to prepare them for higher education.
The goggle sanitation cabinet requested in this project will allow the students to perform the required laboratory experiments in a clean and safe environment. With all the different viruses and bacteria (don't forget lice!) floating around a school, it is essential for the students to have clean and sterile goggles. Safety is a major component of performing laboratory experiments and it should be done in a clean, sterile way. Currently students use sanitation wipes that have an alcohol base. The fumes burn their eyes after they clean their goggles!
None of the students like wearing goggles, but by donating to this project, you will make the experience more enjoyable.
The students will not have to worry about germs and diseases that may be left from previous users. You will make their safety goggle experience a clean and sterile one.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
