My Students

My students are bright, curious, and open to new ways of learning. They want to know more about the world around them. They want to be in charge of their own learning, and we teachers want to give them real opportunities to grow as lifelong learners.

They love technology, but they also need to learn the skills that go with using technology.

Sometimes they look and act like grown-up, but they still need lots of nurturing and encouragement, especially when learning to express themselves as adults.

Our school divides each grade into teams, so we work kind of like a family. As teachers on this team, we teach many of the same kids each day, and they have most of their classes with the same group of kids. This makes us feel more connected, and it helps us look out for them like a family!

My Project

The OMMS 8th Grade Blue Team is participating in a DonorsChoose project to raise money for one class set of Chromebooks. We kindly and gratefully request that you consider donating to one of the Blue Team teachers’ pages to benefit the whole team. In other words, it does not matter which teacher’s page you use to donate; all donations will go to a team set.

It takes all of us together to help our children be prepared for their futures.

We need your help to prepare them for that future in our classrooms.

Using these Chromebooks, we teachers will be able to give immediate and continual feedback for students. We'll get to use Google forms, Google Classroom, Kahoot!, Nearpod, etc.--all of which help students reflect on and grow in their own learning.
