Our school is made up of about 800 students. We have a mix of races and socioeconomic backgrounds. We also have a large military population, so many of our military students come and go throughout the year. Our school, teachers, and students work hard each day. The school has received many awards and is a Blue Ribbon School.
I teach about 65 fifth graders each day.
The way the curriculum is set up, students don't really receive a heavy science instruction until 4th grade. I work hard to make sure that the students get as many hands-on experiences as possible. I want to help prepare them for the middle and high school curriculum ahead. I also try to make math fun and interesting for the students.
My students love science. There are so many different aspects that they enjoy. I want to provide them with virtual reality headsets to bring science from all over the world to their classroom. These headsets provide students with a way to see all different parts of the world, from the bottom of the oceans to the tops of mountains.
These virtual reality headsets will give students a new and innovative way to learn and explore different facets of science.
Ecosystems, changes in the earth's surface, geology and space are only a few topics that students can learn more about using these headsets. I know that this will change the way that students learn about science.
