Google Chromebooks for the Evolving 2nd grade

My students need 5 Google Chromebook laptops to enhance technology in my 2nd grade classroom.

  • $680 goal

Hooray! This project is fully funded

My Students

John Dewey said, "If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow". As 2013 is rapidly approaching, our classroom needs continue to evolve and change to keep up with modern technology. Google Chromebooks will support my students with a variety of educational driven apps.

I have 18 amazing 2nd grade students!

They are intelligent, kind, and energetic about learning new things. They are constantly exceeding my expectations in and out of the classroom. We come from a charter school in California. Our school has 98% of students on free or reduced lunch. I am constantly telling my students how important technology is and will be in their life time. It is hard to fully explain to my students how technology will impact them when they do not have access to it. Chromebook laptops for my classroom will put technology in the hands of my students and let them see first hand how powerful technology can be.

My Project

Google Chromebooks offer an easy approach for navigating technology in the classroom. These computers would allow my students to use educational apps, do research, and increase their proficiency using a computer. Any time students can use technology they get extremely excited. My students would treasure the Chromebooks and treat them as a true gift.

In the words of Bill Gates, "The advance of technology is based on making it fit in so that you don't really even notice it, so it's part of everyday life." Please help me make technology part of my students everyday life and bring the Chromebooks into my classroom.
