Help me give my students seat pouches to store their books and writing utensils. Their desk storage is too small, and they need an individualized storage space for all the books they borrow!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third graders are excited to come to school each and every day. They are curious and eager to please, even with the many hardships they face each day.
They always show how happy they are to be at school and strive to learn all that they can.
All of my students receive a free breakfast and lunch each day at school due to their economic hardships. eight-year-olds should not have any of the obstacles my students do. In spite of their economic and home struggles, they always try their best.
It makes me proud to be their teacher.
My Project
My students love reading! We're full steam in our Reading and Writing Workshops, and both curricula are heavily reliant on independent reading that requires each student to constantly shop for new books that suits their levels and reading interests. In the past, students have used personal plastic reading bags which have resulted in damaged books due to the short lifespan of the bags. Books would drop, bags would overfill, and the problem ensued. This year, I would love for students to have a durable book storage space that is near in proximity.
With these new chair pouches, students would not have to walk far to grab their borrowed books or have to overcrowd small spaces to store their beloved books.
Students will be able to navigate the Reading Workshop curriculum with ease and delight. Not only that, but students will also be able to store basic writing utensils in their personal pouches so it doesn't roll around or gets mixed up or lost with other students' pencils. Crayons, markers, and colored pencils are staples of an elementary classroom, yet often treated as too common or easily replaceable. With these pouches, these items would last longer and be less susceptible to loss.
