The school I work for is a low income school in a small district in Oklahoma. My students love to learn. My students don't have much, but that doesn't keep them from learning. My students know that my classroom is a safe place. When they walk into my room, they leave their worries at the door.
I use a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating, and learning options to make sure that each students' needs are met, wherever they may be.
Each student learns differently, and I think it is important to cater to a variety of learning styles.
My students' love for learning continues to grow. Every day, I am blown away at their willingness to try new things. They love to be challenged, and I am so thankful to be their teacher.
My Project
Having a magnetic dry erase board added to my classroom, in place of the chalkboard, would help update the tools that are used on a daily basis.
The dry erase board will be used to engage students on every lesson, and it will be utilized to help enhance their learning.
The magnetic dry erase board can be used during whole group instruction, small guided groups, and learning centers. Corrections and cleaning can be done easily. Due to allergies, a dry erase board can be very beneficial as we can help eliminate the chalk dust that can negatively affect some students' breathing. If we receive a dry erase board for our classroom, cooperative interactions will emerge naturally whether through using the magnetic option as a manipulative tool or even using the writing for teaching as well as manipulative problems. The magnetic dry erase board can be utilized immediately after it is delivered and installed!
There will be times where several students can work out multiple problems on the board to help assess their learning while others may be working out the same problem at their seats. Whether it is math, spelling, reading, or even language arts, the learning can be monitored immediately and redirected as needed.
