I need to cover hotel accommodations so I can attend the CEC 2020 in Portland, Oregon-one of the top five premiere conferences for Special Education professionals in the world.
This project expired on January 5, 2020.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are super kids-with a great sense of humor, motivated and determined to succeed. They are 3rd, 4th and 5th graders who have been identified with different disabilities-Autism, Specific Learning Disability, etc. They are progressing against all odds and with every passing year they become more adept at being productive and bridging the gap. To witness that progression is an amazing privilege. They are so resilient-they give me back my optimism for a brighter future to come. They keep me young and challenge me to better myself so I can be the best teacher I can be for them.
I am requesting funding for lodging to attend the Council for Exceptional Children Special Education Convention & Expo (CEC 2020) in Portland, Oregon on February 5-8, 2020. By attending, I hope to gain new practices and skills that are based on solid research and academia to add to my knowledge bank. I will be able to select sessions that best inform and support my work while making connections with and learning from the experiences of other educators throughout the convention. Attendance at the convention will also allow me the opportunity to connect with educators who practice in different settings from other parts of the world.
Overall, it will be an experience unlike any other that will benefit me as an educator, the students I serve, my colleagues and ultimately my school.
Please help me learn all I can to provide a rigorous learning experience for ALL students in my classroom!
