My Students

My eighth grade students are enthusiastic, excited, and curious about learning! Unfortunately, like most schools, the literature and novels read in schools has been very stagnant. As a teacher, I strive to introduce materials and curriculum that are relevant, engaging, and that make connections among my students.

My students are passionate about learning and immersing themselves in our classroom units.

Teenagers are often criticized by outsiders about their lack of excitement towards school; as a teacher myself I could not disagree more. Every day spent with my students is another day where I am inspired by their drive to learn.

My Project

The book "Good Night Mr. Tom" is one that explores the themes of love and hardship, and struggles that can be either a catalyst or an inhibitor for growth in life. Reading this novel with eighth grade students is remarkable and exciting.

"Good Night Mr. Tom" is a book that stays with readers long after they have read it.

By donating to to our project, you will be providing my students with the thrill of reading, the excitement of learning, and the delight of an uplifting story of love and loss.

Reading this novel in class allows students to understand the importance of education and knowing how to read and write. It shows them healthy and unhealthy relationships.
