My Students

I teach some wonderful fifth grade special needs students who are in need of combination locks. My students are nervous about opening their lockers next year in middle school. I know they will be able to master this skills with just a little extra practice.

My Project

During second semester, my fifth grade students begin to get anxious about going to middle school next year. Their biggest concern is always being unable to open their lockers and being late to class. Sixth grade is when most students have their first experience using a locker and for some it can be a traumatic.

I want my students to leave fifth grade with the confidence that they can handle whatever middle school brings.

I know my students can achieve independence with using combination locks and locker organization if they have the right tools to practice.
