I teach English/Language Arts in a special education setting. These students are considered the super sub group in our school, and they come from extremely low economic households. They are all struggling readers who need assistance with reading fluency and reading comprehension. Each one of them has their own unique struggles at school and also at home. However, they come to school every day, ready to learn new things. Unfortunately, because they all struggle in reading, this makes learning in other classes difficult as well.
Soccer is the newest sport in our schools and our community. Therefore, there are limited resources and equipment for these students to utilize. This equipment will make a difference in the team's ability to condition, practice, and play during their five (5) month term on the school's soccer team. Most of these students come from low income family, so this equipment will make playing the game of soccer and being a part of a team, more than just fun! They will learn soccer, health, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and honor. Please help our team climb the ladder to victory this year.
