Good Books Help a Reader Grow!

My students need high interest books at a variety of levels so they can grow their reading skills.

My Students

My 24 third graders are learning to love reading by choosing books at their "Good Fit" level. One of their favorite times in the day is silent reading time. They choose the books and where they want to sit. After that, they are lost in the adventures found in their books! I get a kick out of hearing a reader giggle when a character does something funny, or jumps up to share with me the exciting event that just happened in their book. You can see the love for reading when that happens.

The scholars in my room are a diverse group of learners who come from a low socioeconomic background.

Most students are on free and reduced meals. They come into 3rd grade reading 1-2 years below grade level expectations, but leave reading at or near grade level. This happens because they work hard everyday to improve their reading and academic abilities.

My Project

These books will add to our classroom library where students can pick that perfect "Good Fit" book to help them grow as readers and scholars. Since many of my students come into 3rd grade reading below grade level, these amazing students need books they can read. As the school year progresses, they move up to grade level text with confidence and the love of reading beginning to GROW!

This donation will make a huge impact on my students this year!

They are so motivated to improve. They have such an enthusiasm for learning.

Thank you in advanced for your help and the role you will play in improving the reading lives of my students.
