Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are fun and loving 5 year olds who live mostly in shelters or temporary housing. Many of my students come from low socioeconomic households. My students enjoy learning new things everyday. My students absolutely love reading and writing. They are very excited when it comes to knowing their power words. They are currently learning how to read and write power words at flash speed. Additionally my students enjoy making their own stories by publishing their own creative books.
My Project
We have ordered a variety of books for read alouds. Our students enjoys coming to the rug every day and listening to a good story. Not only do they listen but they think about the overall message or lesson the book is trying to convey. Our school overall is focusing on implementing strong vocabulary to our students. With these books our students can learn new words to incorporate into their daily vocabulary. We would like stamps and ink in order to put friendly designs on student work. The magnetic clips will be used to hang papers around the room on our magnetic chalk board and metal cabinets.
