Help me give my students these marching snare drum and bass drum for our drum line so we can show the city of Bridgeport and our school the incredible talent of our students
My students are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Each has their own individual personality that makes them thrive in my classroom. They treat the classroom with respect for each other, the instruments, and myself.
Although my school is a STEM school I have built a long tradition of students that win music awards in the district such as best modern and concert band two years ina row, as well as in the region for top honors on percusssion, woodwind, and brass instruments.
We are a Title I school in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The students come from a very diverse ethnic population. With this in mind our students bring many cultural backgrounds that enhance the classroom.
My Project
I wanted to thank you in advance for checking out the project for my school's drum line. The Snares and bass drums will be used by students in parades and school events in addition to practice. The drum line meets once a week on Friday mornings and has both male and female participants.
The drum line is extremely popular and now has more members than we do drums.
We were granted snare drums and bass drums a about 7 years ago through a state grant, because of magnet school status.
My students come from a diverse population drumming and music is part of any culture. My students are extremely talented and creative.
One of my goals is drum line competitions but for now we are representing our school district and the City of Bridgeport in Parades and other events that call for drum line.
