This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"You have two ears and one mouth; you should listen twice as much as you talk." For young children, this is easier said than done. With the use of these wireless headphones and wireless mice, my students can block out distractions when listening to lessons and assignments in the technology center.
I teach Kindergarten at a Title I school where many of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
These children live in a predominantly low-income area and come from families that work hard trying to provide for them. While many of my students come to school everyday ready to learn, at this young age they struggle to stay focused and on task.
My Project
The headphones and mice will serve many purposes in my classroom. Not only will they allow my "on-task" students to remain free from distractions, the headphones and mice will also be used for differentiated instruction for my struggling students. Being that my students are young, they have a very difficult time refraining from playing with the wires and cords on regular headphones and mice. Needless to say, the noise levels cause concentration problems for teachers and other children. The wireless headphones and mice will eliminate that problem of excess wires they can trip over or that get tangled, allowing my students to stay focused on their assignments.
Your generous donation of the wireless headphones will make a huge difference in my class.
They will provide my students the opportunity to focus on their assignments, without the problems and distractions that are caused by broken, loose, and tempting wires.
