This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Due to unforeseen circumstances due to COVID-19, my students are now experiencing learning from a different outlook. The students at my school have currently transition to a new learning environment, their homes. This is very different from the traditional learning setting. Many of my students have limited access to technology beyond the classroom. Our school has issued school chrome books to extend their learning beyond work packets. Through the use of Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom, I will be able to review and extend learning opportunities to students to prepare them for the next grade level.
My Project
The iPad and Apple Smart Keyboard that I receive will help me to consistently reach my students through technology. Utilizing this technology will provide a reliable means of contact and allow me to meet the educational needs of students. I want to be accessible at all times to ensure that I am meeting the needs of our learners. With these resources, I can also offer small group and one on one learning opportunities to differentiate instruction that mirrors what transpires in our classroom. Through the use of technology, I can model lessons and support our parents that are serving as co-teachers during this difficult time. I would like to cultivate a setting that provides assistance as needed to support them in their new roles. It is essential that my students are aware that their learning needs are equally important outside of our classroom. Technology will help to bridge the gap for our learners to prepare them for future academic endeavors.
