I teach sweet little first graders in a low socioeconomic area. The population of my students is 97% minority and EL. All of the students at my school receive free lunch. Regardless of my students backgrounds, advantages, and disadvantages, the students always come to school ready and willing to learn.
As my student's teacher, I want to be able to provide learning opportunities and experiences that many of them may not otherwise have.
I want to open their eyes to the numerous possibilities they have in life. I want to engage them so much so that they crave and seek learning in all areas of life. With the assistance of funding from Donors Choose, I know I can create successful members of society.
Due to unfortunate current events of Covid 19, my students and I are forced to learn remotely. For this reason, now more than ever technology and technological devices are more of a necessity than a desire.
With the use of an iPad, I can provide my students more engaging interactive lessons that will encourage them to further participate in their education.
They will be able to access apps that reinforce skills and enable higher learning. An iPad helps students who are kinesthetic and visual learners open up the doors of education and individualize their learning experiences. The iPad will become an experience in the classroom as well as will build twenty first century skills that children need in order to be successful in a quick evolving technical world.
