Preschool as a 3-year-old is tough enough being that it is essentially their first year of school, but ending it so abruptly without saying good-bye to their new friends and teachers is really hard on them.
We have embarked together on this new era of education through distance learning.
However, many of my students do not have the ability to learn online (no internet, no computer, no printer). We participate in two video call check-ins per week, along with emailing curriculum materials to my families. I am blown away at the number of students that join us each week--and even sometimes twice a week. They are so eager to learn and keep in touch!
My Project
Thinking back to the beginning of the school year, I never would have envisioned myself teaching preschool at home through a digital platform. Yet, here I am emailing out lessons plans and video conferencing with my little's. I am pushing through these changes and making the best of an unusual situation.
Most of my students come from low-income households where many do not have internet, computers, or even printers to access the learning materials being sent to them.
With the products in this project, I will be able to print all the materials from my home and deliver them to my students. The worksheet packets will be beneficial for the students to stay on track and continue retaining the curriculum material through the next school year.
