This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income school district, my students are faced with many challenges in and out of school. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to make their experience at school fun, educational, creative, interactive, and meaningful daily.
My students are awesome!
They love coming to school. However, I would love to make their school environment comfortable with new technology in the classroom. We are very limited with technology at our school. Many of my students do not have access to technology at home either.
My Project
I’m trying to get my students from the old school way of learning; textbooks, paper, and pencils!! With these materials, my students will be engaged in their learning. They will have interactive games to play with their groups while learning at the same time. I’m very big on center activities, student-led activities, and peer teaching; these items will help students initiate the led in the classroom. Also, with these materials, my students will be able to “touch” what I’m teaching them. So, they just won’t have to use their imagination but they’ll enjoy hands-on experiences. Math will be enjoyable for my students.
