I teach in a K-5 school in the mountain town of Steamboat Springs, CO. My students are motivated and energetic kiddos who enjoy a multi-modal approach to learning. It is my job to introduce new and different avenues to learning in all academic areas. We are a diverse community that is committed to an active lifestyle. As a teacher, I am building a foundation of learning for my students. I want students and their families to remember our classroom as a "family" who learned together, grew together, had fun together, and grew up together. I believe strongly in engaging students in many different ways. Like in most areas, the school district is not always able to provide the funding and resources needed to make these dreams possible.
My Project
Ahh, the end of the school year! Soon our classroom will be buzzing with summer on their minds. I would like to make a great end of year gift to give to my students and their families to capture the memories of 1st grade.
These end of year memory books will be a fun way for my students to reflect on the special time they have spent in 1st grade.
They will house many wonderful memories that both students and parents will treasure including photos, art projects, and writing assignments. They will be able to observe how they have grown, both physically and academically.
