This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are the most resilient individuals I have had the opportunity to invest in. I serve in a low income charter school in TN. Our goal is all of our students will not only be college ready, but to be leaders in their community.

I get the opportunity to provide a holistic education to our students Pre-K – 5th grade through Physical Education.

The gym is not only a place to roll out the ball, but to incorporate cross curricular instruction that aids in students’ overall success. Teaching teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship affect our students way past the hardwood. I would love to provide my students with equal opportunities to experience a top notch PE program. They deserve it!

My Project

My students will get an amazing opportunity to learn about individual winter sporting events. The gym scooters will allow them to go for the Gold in the bobsled, luge, and skeleton events! Learning about the Winter Olympics is a great way to incorporate cross-curricular instruction in history, geography, science, and so much more within P.E. We have already practiced our speed skating, ski jumping, and hockey skills. The gym scooters will not only serve in this unit, but units in the future as well. They are always a big hit in making physical activity a positive and fun endeavor. Thank you for taking time to consider giving to the kiddos here in TN!
