My Students
All of my students have been identified with a disability that prevents them from accessing the general curriculum. These special needs range from Autism, learning disabled to emotional disturbance. The students in my class come from a variety of backgrounds and each of their home lives are very different. My students are very passionate and motivated to learn. They desperately want to learn the same concepts and curriculum as their grade level peers so that they have the opportunity to go to college.
My Project
Many of my students have disabilities that prevent them from succeeding with the traditional paper pencil assignments. In order to help my students be more successful we are trying to make our classroom totally digital. Having a smart TV in the classroom would allow us to download apps like Google classroom. This apps is especially helpful with displaying students' digital work and using it as a teaching strategy. Other apps such as Class Dojo can also be downloaded and used in the classroom to help with behavior management. Having a smart TV in the classroom will allow the class a new way to interact with the curriculum and will provide constant visuals for my struggling learners.
