My Students
At lunch, I am mobbed for books. Students asking about popular fiction, students waving a book in front of my face asking if it's good, students asking to help me organize our tiny library. In a room that is only ten feet by ten feet, it can get crowded, but it's worth it to see my students' excitement about reading. I can't wait to watch them grow in excitement and passion for literacy. I can't wait for our school's literacy culture to continue to grow!
My Project
As a reading specialist, my job is about to get much more difficult. Many of my students are going to be at home without the same resources we can provide in the school building. To keep my students safe, even in the event of a hybrid learning environment, passing books from child to child will not be feasible.
I am hoping that with a doc cam, I can make sure that no matter where we are, all my kids still have access to the books we use for guided reading at their level so they can continue to improve their literacy skills.
