Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a group of wonderful students in a self-contained elementary classroom. They come from diverse backgrounds. some may come from a two working parent household while their best friend may come from a single parent that cannot provide their children with the basics.
Many students come from low-income home and i want the chance to provide them with learning opportunities they may normally have never had.
my goal is to show students that learning can be enjoyable and tap on their unlimited potential for learning.
My Project
I am requesting Math manipulative for my Shirley Lane students; my students all struggle to understand abstract concepts. Mathematical concepts are such an abstract concept. the manipulatives will allow my students to visualize and physically handle some of those concepts and better understand how fractions, multiplications, and divisions work.
the manipulatives are important to our classroom because the manipulatives will help eliminate the frustration that my students face when its math time; they will feel more confident when they can physically "see" the problem.
the manipulatives will put an end to the guessing end to what they are working on and allow my students to visualize the Math problem.
