My Students

Have you made resolutions to yourself to do your part in Going Green? My students are very eco-friendly! We often find ways to help recycle products in our classroom and I would love to continue to teach my 2nd graders how they can help our environment!

My amazing 2nd graders have a love for learning!

One of our roles is to teach our students to be conscious of what they do and how it will effect our environment. Teaching our students this at a young age will give hope for a healthy planet for our future and our students' futures.

My Project

Having books that discuss environmental challenges as well as ways we can help our environment, will allow for my students the chance to explore science through literacy. Allowing each student to have a "Greenhouse" to call their own will give them a chance to see how they can grow something natural and also learn how plants help our environment. A recycling sort game or center will help my students to visually put recycled items in the correct bins. This gives them a chance to have real life practice and understand how the recycling centers sort materials.

These children are our future and if we educate and invest life skills such as environmental education in them at an early age, our hope for a green future will be evident.

Earth Day is quickly approaching and what a better way to use relevant materials to piggy back or curriculum!
