My students need recycle wastebaskets, clipboards, disposable gloves, card stock, ink cartridges, and Mod Podge to take on Disney's environmental challenge.
From the famous words of the Lorax, "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." My students want to make a big difference in their school, but they need your help!
I am having a great year working with 22 enthusiastic, creative magnet students.
They love to read, write, and take control of their own learning. They enjoy taking on leadership roles and working as a team to complete school projects. My students attend school in a low income area and the entire school is on a government funded free breakfast and lunch program.
My students care about their school and want to do their part to preserve the earth for their future use. The resources I am requesting will allow them to convey the message to the entire school. My students will present a recycle wastebasket to the third grade classes. They will use the clipboards and student-created checkoff sheets to survey the environmental needs of the school. They will review the results and present their findings to the principal for further action. My students will create posters, flyers, and bookmarks to get the school excited about going green. They will set up a schedule for classes to help clean the playground. They will use Mod Podge to create art projects from recycled materials.
Thank you, Disney, for funding environmental projects!
Through my project, "Go Green Challenge", my students will have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, encourage others to go green and recycle, beautify their school, and make it a better place for themselves and future students. Please consider being a part of the challenge.
