My Students

Imagine walking into a school with hundreds of children. You are only 5 years old and have only attended preschool with much fewer students. Or maybe you didn't go to preschool and this is your very first school experience. I want my kids to learn to have fun in this big school! I have students with various ethnic backgrounds including some that just moved here from other countries within the past month. I also have 3 students that will be joining us from a self-contained classroom. The majority of my classroom is comprised of boys (66%).

My Project

I want to incorporate the use of Osmos to help with reading and math skills. These materials will give students an opportunity to use materials individually or with a partner. This will make learning more meaningful.

Students need to know that Math is more than just memorization.

It is a deeper understanding of numbers and quantity. With the Osmo number app students will learn how to subitize numbers.

I want students to have Osmos to help them learn how to incorporate letter sounds into words. When using the Osmo word app students will see a picture. They will use the picture and the empty circles to try to spell the word using their knowledge of letter sounds.
