Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students struggle with math. Whether they don't have a strong foundation in math basics, or have a language barrier, the math struggle is real. We are a title I school which means more than 50% of our students are not meeting grade level expectations for math.
The majority of my students are from lower economic situations.
Many do not have a support system at home that can support their education. Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of lack of supplies and resources.
My Project
Visuals assist students with difficult concepts! Learning can be reinforced with different teaching/learning resources because they stimulate, motivate as well as focus learners' attention for a while during the instructional process. Visual aids arouse the interest of learners and help the teachers to explain the concepts easily. Visual aids are those instructional aids which are used in the classroom to encourage students learning process. Based upon research outcomes, the effective use of visuals can decrease learning time, improve comprehension, enhance retrieval, and increase retention.
These posters will help students understand the concepts, allowing them to explore the concepts on their own by having a mental picture.
