Mrs. Forwood from Wilmington DE is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 75 glue sticks for their art projects. Our glue sticks have either been all used up or have dried out.

Help us prevent sticky messes. The convenience and ease of use of glue sticks have made them a favorite in my art classroom, but we are all out. Can you imagine taking the time to create a collage for an art project, but not having glue to stick it together?
I teach art to 252 students in an impoverished, inner-city school and a lot of their resources and materials are scarce.
They are a challenging group, but they are also very creative and love to create interesting art projects and work with their hands. They especially love to create cut paper collages, however, they use glue sticks so much that they dry out.
Without glue, our students would not be able to create masterpieces. I am requesting glue sticks for my students to use for their art projects. I have tried to buy them inexpensively, but the “cheaper ones” are exactly that, and don’t last very long and often dry out before the glue is even all used. Currently, I don’t have any working glue sticks. Glue would change our students’ lives because they would be excited to create works of art and displaying it in our school's walls. The donation of the glue sticks will also ensure that my students will be able to complete the projects that are part of the art curriculum and will impact my classroom greatly because we use glue sticks everyday.
You can make a difference in the lives of our students way beyond providing a creative outlet.
The arts have a significant role in education both for their intrinsic value and for the ways in which they can enhance general academic achievement and improve students' social and emotional development. We would appreciate you fulfilling this classroom need and would use these materials daily to create our masterpieces.
