I teach social studies and science at a K-6 Title I school where energetic students are eager to learn. Diversity is one word which comes to mind when describing my heterogeneously-grouped students. These individual distinctions are evident in their varied talents, interests, level of motivation, performance, and economic status.
My students share an eagerness to learn about science and social studies concepts.
Our school has many students categorized as socially- and economically-disadvantaged. There is much support from our helpful staff; yet, often funds are not available to meet material needs for the classroom.
My Project
The requested items in this particular supply project will definitely affect our classroom community. All students will benefit from having new resources such as pencils, erasers, folders, markers, highlighters, and glue sticks. As a group we will share items in our whole-class supply storage area.
Students who are unable to bring in their own supplies will have no problem - this project will offer what they need to have successful learning experiences in our classroom.
As students participate in various individualized and small-group social studies and science projects, new supplies will enhance quality work. If we receive these supplies, the work is guaranteed to chart success for everyone. Having the necessary materials is essential to students moving forward with increased success.
